Our Story

Welcome to Rahina, where tradition meets modernity. Rooted in the memories of our ancestors and the cherished moments spent amidst the gentle embrace of the khareef season in Dhofar. Rahina is more than mere adornment; it is a passage back to our indigenous roots, a dance of inclusivity and intentionality. From the bustling markets of Jaipur to the hands of our artisans in Oman, every step of our journey celebrates community and connection.

We are driven by a deep-seated passion for preserving the essence of our heritage in the face of modernity's relentless march. Inspired by the vibrant tapestry of South Arabian traditions that have withstood the test of time, we set out on a mission to breathe new life into age-old crafts. Our commitment to cultural preservation is reflected in every meticulously crafted piece, each one a testament to the beauty of our resilient history.

We believe that culture is not a relic of the past but a living, breathing entity that evolves with each passing generation. Drawing inspiration from our own experiences, memories, and the timeless allure of our mixed culture, every item in our collection is imbued with a sense of history and authenticity. Whether it's the intricate designs of our jewellery or the timeless elegance of our pottery, each creation tells a story– a story told through conversations with our ancestors.

Join us in embracing the spirit of Rahina—a journey of love, creativity, and the timeless beauty of storytelling as we travel through time and celebrate the rich tapestry of South Arabian culture and heritage. We invite you to experience the beauty of the past, brought to life in the present, and preserved for generations to come.

MEET OUR FOUNDER CREATIVE DIRECTOR DESIGNER

Hi! I'm Fatma Al Najjar. My journey from the corporate world to entrepreneurial pursuits embodies the spirit of following my heart and creating from the depths of my being.

I see myself as a creative jack of all trades, infusing my work with a diverse range of skills and passions. My love for creating concepts and seeing them through is evident in every project I undertake. I'm not content with sticking to just one medium, so I embrace a multitude of artistic expressions, believing that one should never be limited in their art or endeavors. From jewellery design to sculpting clay to film production and writing, I'm leaning into the notion that the creative spirit knows no bounds.

One of my passions lies in delving into indigenous cultures, seeking inspiration from my own Dhofari/Omani and Bisaya/Filipino heritage. I see art as a powerful tool for exploration and understanding, and I am dedicated to researching and respecting these cultures and reflecting that in my work. Naturally, I am also deeply committed to the concept of decolonization, advocating for inclusivity, empowerment, resistance and representation within my artistic endeavors.

While establishing and working on Rahina I envisioned a venture that would blend my intellectual curiosity with my new found creativity. Rahina has been my guiding light to returning home to myself and my roots.
